CELEBRATE good times COME ON.

event, Places to visit

Are you joining us this weekend ? Celebrate is a two day awesome event coming to Abbotsford B.C

This market is filled wall to wall with super talented vendors. The vendors range from photographers, florists, food, party supplies, and more. All vendors under celebrate roof can be used to help you plan and execute the best party or event yet.

If you are getting married this year you should be first in line to this event, it’s a fraction of the price to attend celebrate than a wedding show and you are getting to see and meet the people behind the businesses you would be booking.

This is a family friendly event. Bring your kids, your friends and family and enjoy entertainment, speakers, live demos, and shop some of the best local businesses around.

The first 25 people in line will receive an amazing swag bag on friday and the first 25 on Saturday. Trust me when I say, you want this !!!! They are stuffed with AMAZING items.

If you are looking to save a few dollars on your entrance ticket you can find over 500 event post cards (with $2 off at the door) in local shops in both

    Chilliwack corn maze

Activities for littles, Family fun, Places to visit, Uncategorized

As soon as the leaves started falling I started looking at fall activities to do in our local area. One of the first things that came up was the Chilliwack corn maze.

As soon as I looked it up I wanted to go. Full of activities for all ages and totally affordable for the whole family. Fall is such a beautiful time of year and a great time to get outside still and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

We packed up and put our rubber boots on and headed to the corn maze for a cloudy day of fun. When we arrived we had no idea just how amazing it really was.

As soon as you arrive you feel the energy and fun, kids are running around with the biggest smiles on their faces, parents are drinking hot beverages and watching their kids play happily. It’s somewhere you never want to leave. The day we went was cloudy and looked like it might rain so we dressed in layers ready for it to rain at any minute. If you live in B.C you know the rain can come at anytime and you need to be prepared.

They have a play area for kids, a fun tunnel slide, games, a jumping pillow, corn train, duck races, and pedal carts. Then inside they have an indoor hay maze, a corn pit, animals,  and the weekend we visited they had a movie playing in the big barn.

    img_0180

They also have a 12 acre giant corn maze great for the whole family and a pumpkin patch. We ended up spending over 4 hours there and had so much fun we are planning to go back already. They also have fire pits you can reserve and bring in your own food. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

    Made in the Valley Market

Activities for littles, Brands, Family fun, fashion, Fashion for Littles, Mom Life, My Loves, Places to visit, Uncategorized

What a day it was. So many amazing vendors in one space and weather that was so coorporative you couldn’t have timed it any better.

This market was planned so well and was possibly the best market I’ve ever been to. So well thought out and so much time and effort put into it. Every minute put into the market really showed, the welcome tent was the start of it all with the warmest faces smiling and saying “hello” as you got a vendor directory and a cold beverage to take with you shopping. Another cool and fun feature was they also had live demonstrations from vendors, activities for the little ones, and live music.

This market had over 74 vendors ranging from home decor, flowers, baked goods, kids vendors, etc. It really had something for everyone. That’s the amazing thing that “LOVING LOCAL” markets has going for it they are so diverse in the vendors and yet it all totally goes together and makes for a great event to attend. The other amazing thing about the markets is they are FREE !!!!! I know right ?! Nothing’s free anymore but it’s true ! This awesome family friendly event was FREE.

Some super exciting news is that “LOVING LOCAL” is hosting another event.loving local _ holidays

Hope to see you at the next event. If your interested in this event be sure to follow the facebook or Instagram pages for all the updates.

Warin Marie Photography and myself had the pleasure of photography the event and selected booths for the market and we wanted to share them with you.

The other day we spent the morning driving around Chilliwack, getting familiar with Our new city. As someone that never really came to Chilliwack I have no clue what it has to offer or where everything is. Most people think Chilliwack doesn’t have much to offer as far a shopping or cool unique places to visit but that’s far from the truth.
It might be lacking bigger stores like Michaels, HomeSense, Costco, Old navy, Ikea, Chapters. Ok I could go on, clearly I’m missing a few of my favourite stores a little. However it has little hidden gems  full of character. We only made it to a handful the other day, however this is now my mission on days off to find awesome new spots to share with you.

A few shops or food hangs we have come across are:

    The Button Box – BOUTIQUE

    9369B Mill St, Chilliwack, BC V2P 4N3

    Harvest – STORE & CAFE

    9381 Mill St, Chilliwack, BC V2P 4N3

You put some adorable brands together and some cute kids and I mean it’s a win. We love shopping local and handmade in our home and so all of these apparel shops are found just around the corner from our doorstep.

Kids clothes have come such a long ways since the days of puffy, ruffled sleeves and scratchy materials. Thanks mom for that experience! I’m still itchy. One of my favourite things in the morning is picking out Harlows outfit. However we have now reached the age where she fights me every morning on what to wear. Usually it’s between 3 of her favorite dresses, however I do occasionally win and get to select the outfit still. I’ve always dressed her in just a smaller version of what I would wear. I’ve never really been into cartoon shirts, logo’s or Disney stuff. I just wanted her to have more simple and versatile items that could be worn for longer.

The Tights the kids are wearing are from TK Clothing they are so beyond soft. They also can grow with your child if you buy them a size bigger your able to just fold the waistband over or I prefer them on the longer side cause you can just scrunch them up their legs and then they can grow more and more into them. These tights are a must have in our house for sure. Great quality, trendy, affordable and adorable. WIN !

Other brands the kids are wearing:

Colourful Girls necklace: Nene & Bambino

    Boys Tshirt: Locomotive Clothing

    Boys white Tshirt: KEWE Clothing

Boys hat: Jax and Lennon Co

    Fly for Pie

Activities for littles, Family fun, Food, Places to visit, Uncategorized

With recently moving to chilliwack we are adventuring around the city looking for unique adventures and activities to do. We have heard about fly for pie and thought now we are so close we need to check it out and find out for ourself if this pie is really as good as everyone says it is.

Chilliwack airport has become somewhat famous for their “FLY FOR PIE” and after visiting I can totally understand why. The pie is made fresh daily and by hand. No store bought re-heated pie here folks. Just the best of the best. They have so many choices it was terribly hard to pick just one to enjoy.

The pie comes with a scoop of ice cream with a choice of the pie heated up. I mean really what better way to spend a bad weather day then going for a delicious slice of HOMEADE pie ?! Not to mention it’s great place to take kids to. They can sit and enjoy their delicious pie while watching all the planes fly in and out.

Harlow was beyond excited to see the planes and she didn’t complain about the pie either. Such a fun activity for the whole family I strongly suggest checking it out even if your just passing through since its not far off the highway.

    Smoothie & Popcicles

    DIY Project, Food, Littles, Uncategorized

So today on snapchat I shared my smoothie recipe and thought what better time to share these amazing Popcicle molds. We LOVE smoothies in our home and have one almost every day but we always have leftovers that get poured out. I found these amazing molds for popclicles from “Decor”called Icestix  and they are amazing. No more waste in our home.

My go to easy smoothie recipe:

    Juice:

This recipe was Orange juice but it could be apple juice, cranberry juice, etc. Whatever your heart desires or whatever you have in your home.

    Frozen Berries:

This recipe was strawberry, blueberry and raspberries. But it could be whatever you like another favorite in our house is. Pineapple, mango and peaches and strawberries.

    Yogurt:

I use IOGO brand and its a Greek yogurt in vanilla but also you can use any flavour you want. I prefer Greek over regular cause it is thicker which helps make it creamy and thicker.

Once you’ve enjoyed your smoothies take the leftovers and pour them into your silicone molds put the lids on and put them in the freezer to enjoy a healthy Popcicle later. These are amazing for kids and a great sunny day snack.
