Made in the Valley Market

Activities for littles, Brands, Family fun, fashion, Fashion for Littles, Mom Life, My Loves, Places to visit, Uncategorized

What a day it was. So many amazing vendors in one space and weather that was so coorporative you couldn’t have timed it any better.

This market was planned so well and was possibly the best market I’ve ever been to. So well thought out and so much time and effort put into it. Every minute put into the market really showed, the welcome tent was the start of it all with the warmest faces smiling and saying “hello” as you got a vendor directory and a cold beverage to take with you shopping. Another cool and fun feature was they also had live demonstrations from vendors, activities for the little ones, and live music.

This market had over 74 vendors ranging from home decor, flowers, baked goods, kids vendors, etc. It really had something for everyone. That’s the amazing thing that “LOVING LOCAL” markets has going for it they are so diverse in the vendors and yet it all totally goes together and makes for a great event to attend. The other amazing thing about the markets is they are FREE !!!!! I know right ?! Nothing’s free anymore but it’s true ! This awesome family friendly event was FREE.

Some super exciting news is that “LOVING LOCAL” is hosting another event.loving local _ holidays

Hope to see you at the next event. If your interested in this event be sure to follow the facebook or Instagram pages for all the updates.

Warin Marie Photography and myself had the pleasure of photography the event and selected booths for the market and we wanted to share them with you.

Feel free to share the photos but please credit both

Treasures in the Fraser Valley

Family fun, fashion, Food, Places to visit, Uncategorized

The other day we spent the morning driving around Chilliwack, getting familiar with Our new city. As someone that never really came to Chilliwack I have no clue what it has to offer or where everything is. Most people think Chilliwack doesn’t have much to offer as far a shopping or cool unique places to visit but that’s far from the truth.
It might be lacking bigger stores like Michaels, HomeSense, Costco, Old navy, Ikea, Chapters. Ok I could go on, clearly I’m missing a few of my favourite stores a little. However it has little hidden gems  full of character. We only made it to a handful the other day, however this is now my mission on days off to find awesome new spots to share with you.

A few shops or food hangs we have come across are:

The Button Box – BOUTIQUE

9369B Mill St, Chilliwack, BC V2P 4N3

Harvest – STORE & CAFE

9381 Mill St, Chilliwack, BC V2P 4N3

Decades – COFFEE & SNACKS

45846 Wellington Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P 2C9

Airport Coffee Shop – PIE/LUNCH

46244 Airport Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2P 7K4

Agropur Island Farms – ICE CREAM

GET OUTSIDE & ENJOY NATURE IN STYLE

fashion, Uncategorized

We partnered with Lady Fern Athletic to bring you an inspiring photo shoot. My vision for this entire day was to be as natural and organic as possible and really embrace the beauty in our backyard. We often get so wrapped up in our daily grind we forget to embrace the beauty around us. One of my favourite Sunday activities is to go and explore. Find a new Waterfall, go foraging in the forest, pack a picnic and stop on the side of the road somewhere randomly. This day was a day I’ll never forget, the smell of fresh air and the spray of the waterfall in my face reminded me of my childhood. It felt relaxing and empowering something that you don’t feel often in the every day hussle.

Our model was one of my dear friends who I adore. Jenn was stunning and so inspiring to watch, fully of energy and a beautiful glow she was the perfect model for this shoot being a regular yogi.

Our photographer was the very talented Warin Marie Photography who was a trooper and climbed to the very top of the waterfall with us to capture the beautiful images I had envisioned in my head for months.

The outfits were provided to us from Lady Fern Athletics in Abbotsford,B.C

Spring Fashion

fashion, Uncategorized

WMP_Chaos&CreativeFashion_31

With the warmer weather here its sometimes hard to figure out selecting an outfit in the morning or wondering what’s appropriate or not for the season. A few tips to help the season transition easier for you

  1. Layers
  2. Introducing Colour
  3. Use navy, gray, brown as neutrals not always black
  4. Layer patterns and Textures
  5. Flats or heels

As far as layering goes the weather can be all over the place this time of year. So starting your day off with layers will be a great transition for the afternoon warmer hours. Wearing a cardigan over a tank top or t-shirt will allow you to remove a layer if it gets too warm. Spring is also a great time to layer in those lightweight scarves in your closet and it also adds dimension to your outfit and maybe a punch of colour. Scarves can be a great accessory for any time of year just purchasing the right weight in fabric is key and also selecting the appropriate colours.

A great alternative to black is Navy or gray, its not as harsh and its easier to coordinate with those pale pastels and spring colours. A lot of the time black ends up being the star of the show in your outfit because its such a bold dark colour, however swapping the black out for navy can add to your look more than take away.

A great way to add interest to your outfit is mixing patterns and textures, incorporate a lightweight accessory or layer a different coloured sweater. As far as shoes go find what’s weather appropriate and when the weathers nice bust out those open toed shoes to show off that new pedicure. Another great way to add colour to your outfit is by your shoes, purchase those trendy shoes in your favourite colour they will add to an outfit more than take away from it.

Each style post I want to make it easy for you to find the items if you love them. I will link where you can purchase the items used in the look. In the case that the item is no longer available I will link something very similar both in the look and the price range of the original item.

XOXO

Jenna
