We are in the process of converting Harlows nursery to a “Big girl” room. With her mastering crawling out of her crib we figured now is the time to transition to a toddler bed. Well that was a horrible/terrible decision and we have regretted taking the crib fully apart now.
In the mean time I am trying to make her room cosy and fun and let her help with choosing some items and also crafting some special things to hang on the wall to make it more of a homey space since we are sticking with a fairly neutral colours.
This DIY project was so simple and totally do able by anyone and super inexpensive.
- Wood rounds ( However many you need for your saying, date, name, etc.)
- A black ink felt or pen
- Hot glue gun
Next you need to lay out all your wood pieces on a table in a row and draw on your wood pieces. Once you have completed that and are happy with it you need to cut your twine. I cut it super long to make sure I had enough once everything was glued on.
Then you want to count your wood rounds and divide it in half and also find the middle of your rope so your going to start with the middle wood piece and glue that first so that it doesn’t end up uneven.
Put just a dab of hot glue on the top of the wood round and push the twine into the glue assuring it is fully covered in glue. Then do that for the next wood rounds on either side. Once you have the first three attached put a tiny amount on the side of the rounds and put them together this just helps it all stay even. You can crack apart the rounds after its fully dry or keep it all together that’s totally up to you to decide what you like better.
Once you finished attaching them all make sure to let it fully dry before you move it, then at the end of the twine tie a loop knot so you are able to hang it on a nail and that’s it super easy and a fairly quick DIY.
Have fun !
